When I first met L at Starbucks in Prattville for our pre photoshoot consultation, I knew I couldn't wait to get her in front of my camera. I knew immediately that she would be amazing to photograph. She is one of those people you meet who are just stunning and not because she's all made up- she actually didn't have any make up on at al.. What's even better about L is that she is kind and has a great personality on top of it all.
Through much discussion, we decided to do the shoot at two very different locations to accommodate the two very different looks for the session. L and her fiance are from Nigeria and wanted to incorporate traditional Nigerian clothing as part of the shoot. I was extremely excited about this as this is something I had not photographed before. (After being a photographer for over 13 years it is very exciting when I get to do something different!!!) For the traditional part of the shoot, we chose Cooters Pond & Park in Prattville and then for the other we chose The Alabama State Capitol building in downtown Montgomery. Oh man....I just knew that having them in front of the Capitol building all dressed up (especially with L in that red dress) would be AWESOME!!!!
So, now we had our locations, wardrobe now all we had to do was to get them in front of the camera. As a photographer, you never know how people are going to act in front of the camera. Some people get very nervous or couples may be shy to show affection. It is my job to make them comfortable and hopefully get over their fears. Well, with these two, I only had to do slight direction- they we very comfortable with me and the camera and I believe the images reflect that. These are two very genuine, beautiful people who are undoubtedly so in love!! I wish them all the best as the begin their journey together as husband and wife!!
